GATE 2022: Registration Process to Start from August 30, know-how will be the Exam Pattern

GATE 2022: The registration process will run from 30 August to 24 September. The application form has to be filled online on the official website gate.iitkgp.ac.in.

GATE 2022: The process of registration for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, GATE 2022 will begin on August 30. Indian Institute of Technology, IIT Kharagpur is conducting this exam this year. More information related to GATE 2022 can be found on the official website gate.iitkgp.ac.in. The last date to submit the application form for GATE 2022 is 24 September 2021.

This year two new papers have been included in the examination. The first is GE i.e. Geomatics Engineering and the second is NM i.e. Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. There is a total of 29 subjects in GATE 2022. This exam will be conducted in two shifts. The first shift will be from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift will be from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm. The exam will be conducted on 5th, 6th, 12th, and 13th February 2022.

If the candidates want to appear in the examination of more than one subject, then they can give their information in a single application form. A candidate will fill in only one form. The application of the candidate who has filled multiple application forms will be rejected.

Marking Scheme

Questions carry 1 mark and 2 marks

Negative Marking

For a wrong answer chosen in a MCQ, there will be negative marking.

For 1-mark MCQ, 1/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

For 2-mark MCQ, 2/3 mark will be deducted for a wrong answer.

NO negative marking for MSQ & NAT.

GATE 2022: Exam Pattern Subject Code AE, AG, BM, BT, CE, CH, CS, CY, EC, EE, ES, EY, IN, MA, ME, MN, MT, NM, PE, PH, PI, TF For ST, General Aptitude Marks will be 15 and Subject Marks will be 85.

For Subject Code AR [Part A + Part B (B1: Architecture or B2: Planning)] General Aptitude Marks will be 15 and Subject Marks will be 60 + 25.

Subject Code GE [General Aptitude Marks for Part A + Part B (Section I or Section II) is 15 and Subject Marks is 55 + 30.

The General Aptitude Marks for the Subject Code GG [Part A + Part B (Section 1: Geology or Section 2: Geophysics)] is 15 and the Subject Marks are 25 + 60

The General Aptitude Marks for Subject Code XE (Section A + Any Two Sections) is 15 and Subject Marks is 15 + (2 x 35)

The General Aptitude Marks for Subject Code XH (Section B1 + Any One Section) is 15 and Subject Marks is 25 + 60
