The primary objectives of the G20 Essay Competition are as follows:
- Ignite the Minds: The G20 Essay Competition aims to invite students to share their innovative ideas and visions, encouraging them to think critically about India’s role in the G20 Presidency.
- Enhance Awareness: By creating awareness and enhancing knowledge about India’s G20 Presidency, the G20 Essay Competition seeks to educate young Indians about the country’s significant position in steering global affairs.
- Foster Understanding: The G20 Essay Competition aims to deepen the understanding of the G20 among young Indians, enabling them to relate to the diverse parameters and implications of this global platform.

The G20 Essay Competition is open to Indian citizens falling into the following categories:
- Category A: 12-14 years of age
- Category B: 14-16 years of age

Entries will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
The originality of Thought and Depth of Knowledge: The G20 Essay Competition seeks essays that demonstrate unique perspectives and a profound understanding of the subject matter.
Quality of Content and Relevance: Essays should exhibit well-researched content, addressing the topic ‘My Vision for India’s G20 Presidency’ with the utmost relevance.

Terms and Conditions: Guidelines for Participation in G20 Essay Competition
Participants are required to adhere to the following terms and conditions:
Eligibility: The G20 Essay Competition is open exclusively to Indian citizens.
Submission: Essays must be submitted through the designated MyGov.in portal. Entries sent via alternative modes or mediums will not be considered.
Originality: Plagiarized or copied entries will be disqualified. The G20 Secretariat/Ministry of External Affairs reserves the right to publicize winning entries.
Formatting Requirements: Essays should be typed in an A-4 size MS Word document, using Arial font for English and Mangal font for Hindi. The document should have a font size of 12, 1.5″ spacing, and must be submitted in PDF format.
Profile Accuracy: Participants must ensure their MyGov profile is accurate and updated, as it will be used for communication purposes. Incomplete profiles may result in disqualification.
Dispute Resolution: Any disputes, amendments, or issues related to the competition will be decided by the G20 Secretariat/Ministry of External Affairs and deemed final and binding.
Changes and Updates: Participants are responsible for keeping themselves informed about any changes in the terms, technical parameters, or evaluation criteria, which will be communicated through the MyGov platform.
