CBSE Science Challenge 2023-24: How to Register and Participate
Science plays a significant role in our lives, enabling us to comprehend the world around us better. To promote curiosity, inquiry, and higher-order thinking among students. The CBSE board is organizing the CBSE Science Challenge for classes 8 to 10. In this article, we’ll discuss how to register and participate in the challenge.
Details of the CBSE Science Challenge
The challenge will consist of two rounds, within school and inter-school, and will be available on the CBSE platform between April and May 2023. The theme of the challenge is Science, Environment, and Sustainability. There is no fee for participating students at either stage of the enrichment activity.
The registration process for CBSE Science Challenge
All students from classes 8 to 10 in CBSE affiliated schools are eligible to participate in Round One (first stage). The school will need to register the students for this round, and for Round Two (second stage).
The school can nominate the best-performing six students (two from each participating class) from the first stage. The challenge paper will comprise a variety of stimulants followed by MCQs, and students will be evaluated based on speed and accuracy.
Certificates and Appreciation for CBSE Science Challenge 2024
All participants of Round Two will receive an online participation certificate from the board, and the best performing students will receive an appreciation certificate. Schools are encouraged to participate in the CBSE Science Challenge as it will provide learners an opportunity to practice and demonstrate their skills.

Annexure-I – CBSE Science Challenge 2023-24
The Science Challenge 2023-24 will be conducted in two stages. In Round One (First stage), affiliated schools can register their students (Classes 8 to 10) for the challenge on the Science Challenge Portal between 03rd April 2023 to 14th April 2023. On 17th April 2023, a Science Challenge paper with MCQs will be made available to the registered schools, along with the scoring criteria on the same portal.
The school will organize the CBSE Science Challenge for the registered students between 17th April 2023 to 21st April 2023, and identify six students (two each from Classes 8 to 10) based on their performance on the assigned tasks for Round-1.
The school will subsequently register the identified students for Round 2 on the CBSE Science Challenge portal between 24th April 2023 to 04th May 2023.
In Round Two (Second stage), a computer-based Science Challenge will be conducted by the board for the registered students between 08th May 2023 to 12th May 2023.
Only schools that have completed the first stage and subsequently registered students for Round Two will be eligible for the second stage. The detailed modalities of conduct for this test will be communicated to the schools that register students for the second round of the challenge.
