CBSE Budding Authors Programme

To mark the second anniversary of NEP 2020, CBSE announced the CBSE Budding Writers Program in partnership with the Central Square Foundation, Pratham Books’ Story Weaver and the National Book Trust. The CBSE Budding Author Program is a continuation of the CBSE Reading Mission which was launched on September 13, 2021.

The CBSE aspiring writer program aims to provide a platform for high school students to engage in reading different types of stories and learning to write effectively. When students write and submit short stories through this program, they have the opportunity to express their creativity and the opportunity to see it published.

Students can submit their stories in Hindi or English in the following three categories: Class I V-VI 500-600 words, Class II VII-VIII 600-900 words, Class III IX-X 1000-1500 words.

Program steps:

Phase One: The program runs from 24 August to 16 September 2022.

The school nominates at least one teacher to coordinate these activities. Teachers and students can register on the CBSE Reading Mission platform https://cbseacademic.nic.in/ and access sample stories/books in Hindi and English. Hindi/English/Language teachers should encourage students to read at least seven short stories (available in the school library or on the CBSE Reading Mission Platform) to help them engage in this activity.

Later, the school will hold a competition during school hours where students will create and write short stories in English or Hindi. The school will complete an entry evaluation and select two students/participants per category for the next round of the program. Schools can submit information about student participation in the first phase program at the link –https://forms.gle/aMbsimVP14TBcNFM6

For the second stage of registration and entry to the technology platform, the schedule is from 16 September to 30 September 2022. The school must select students (2 winners from each category) for the second stage of the CBSE program for potential authors on the Register by referring to the CBSE Academic website https:// /cbseacademic.nic.in/. The knot teacher can facilitate student enrollment (maximum six students per school).

Students can develop, edit, and finally submit their contributions until November 2, 2022. Read More
