Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav – CBSE Released Activities Calendar for Awareness in Students regarding India’s Freedom Struggle
Our nation is celebrating the 75th anniversary of India’s Independence. To commemorate this, a series of events under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahatosav is planned by the Government of India. As part of the year-long celebrations, the following activities may be organized in schools to make the students aware regarding freedom struggle:
Awareness regarding India’s Freedom Struggle
Activity in Class or School Assembly under the theme “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” (Class I – V)

August 2021 | Poster making competition regarding freedom fighters |
September 2021 | Paragraph writing about places related to freedom struggle |
October 2021 | Story telling by grandparents about freedom struggle events |
November 2021 | Quiz on freedom fighters |
December 2021 | Importance of “Freedom” of India: In views of Grandparents |
January 2022 | Discussions of students with parents/ teachers/ principal regarding freedom fighters |
February 2022 | Role play of freedom fighters |
Activity in Class or School Assembly under theme “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” (Class VI-XII)
Month | Activities |
August 2021 | During the class or school assembly, one boy and one girl student shall participate/ present on the theme “Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav” for around 2 minutes each. |
September 2021 | Poster making competition regarding freedom fighters |
October 2021 | Paragraph writing about places related to freedom struggle |
November 2021 | Speech/ dialogue, discussion, popular story/ poem recitation about freedom fighters |
December 2021 | Role play of freedom fighters |
January 2022 | Discussions of students with parents/ teachers/ principal regarding freedom fighters |
February 2022 | Quiz on freedom fighters or places/ events related to freedom struggle |
March 2022 | Historical verbatim/ patriotic songs during the online/ offline class/ school assemblies on freedom struggle or freedom fighters |
April 2022 | Discussions by teachers in class to make children aware about how a nation is build |

CBSE Suggested to All the heads of schools are requested to organize the above activities in the schools as per the calendar given above. The schools are free to organize events online/ offline so as to ensure complete participation of students, teachers and parents in all the activities. While organizing the events, please ensure that all Government guidelines regarding appropriate COVID-19 behavior must be followed.
